The concept of Green Agriculture was initiated by the Chinese scientists in 2003. Green Agriculture is a sustainable agricultural development model and it has been recognized as one of the most successful agricultural development models in the world. The goal of Green Agriculture is to produce food in an environmentally friendly way. In this way, the natural resources can be preserved while the economic returns of agricultural production can be improved. In addition to the application of new agricultural technologies and equipments, modern management methods are also applied in the whole process of production. Green Agriculture is a new agricultural development model with Chinese characteristics and has been demonstrated in more than 100 counties. The construction of Green Agriculture demonstration base should be approved by the Green Food Association of China under the Ministry of Agriculture of P. R. China. All the green food production bases can obtain subsides from the government.
